Best Western GLo

Best Western International has launched another new prototype designed by EDI International.  This prototype, called GLo, is an urban-suburban midscale brand, appealing to all age groups and types of travelers. The guestroom design uses center loaded bathrooms, which help save approximately 50 SF per guestroom. Guestrooms are appropriated with clean, fresh finishes.

This prototype is designed with 79 keys on a 10,000 SF footprint, but the architectural design allows easy expansion of the building to accommodate more keys, depending on market demands and developer requirements. Public spaces include an open lobby, breakfast bar, and a 400 SF fitness room.

The River Oaks

The River Oaks is undergoing a major transformation from an aging midcentury high-rise into a contemporary 21st century condominium building. The design retains influences from the original design, but also takes modern inspiration from Houston’s Menil Collection and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Best Western Launches New Hotel Brand

Best Western has launched a new prototype called Vib, targeting the millennial traveler. Short for vibrant, the new brand meets the needs of the growing number of travelers looking for a value-oriented, chic, technologically advanced, contemporary hotel experience. Designed by EDI, Vib is a developer’s dream, with a design-forward concept and minimal footprint, cost effective to build, efficient to operate and value engineered to be one of the industry's most profitable business models.

The international prototype has a minimal 9,000 SF urban footprint, 100 value engineered guestrooms in 4 guest stories, plus a double-height, open plan lobby with multiple functions, including a bar, a branded coffee bar, gaming pods, and areas for every type of guest mood. The contemplative guest can visit the “zen zone” on the mezzanine level, or the social guest can grab a drink at the bar and sit outside to interact with the hustle and bustle of the city.

The first project is scheduled for construction in 2015 with an expected completion date in 2016.
